How to Apply
Refund and Cancellation Policy

Application Deadline: June 1, 2010. All application materials and payment must be received by the deadline date. After June 1, please contact us for availability.

The festival is open to piano students, piano teachers, and amateurs. There is no age limit. You may register either as an Active Participant or as an Observer (see the description of each program and fees below).

 

Fees: Active Participant*
Option 1:
$700: Program fee ONLY. Includes private lessons, masterclasses, lectures, workshops, concerts, and receptions. By choosing this option participants are responsible for their own accommodations.

Option 2: $1,180: Program fee + room and board. Includes all listed above and 8 nights stay and daily meals at the Sulpician seminary** (check-in Saturday, July 24, 2010; check-out Sunday, August 1, 2010). Laundry machines are available, and linens will be provided. Click here for more information about the seminary's facilities and regulations.

*If you would like to participate as a duo, please e-mail us to inquire about special discount rates for duo participants.
**Only participants who are 18 years or older may stay at the seminary.

 

Fees: Observer
Option 1: $200: Festival pass. Includes invitation to the International Piano Symposium as well as observation of the festival's events during the entire week (private lessons, masterclasses, lectures, workshops, concerts, and receptions). Participants are responsible for their own accommodations.

Option 2: $680: Festival pass + room and board. Includes all listed above and 8 nights stay and daily meals at the Sulpician seminary (check-in Saturday, July 24, 2010; check-out Sunday, August 1, 2010). Option 2: $50: Pass to the International Piano Symposium, July 25-26.

Tuition Payment
You can pay your tuition online (please choose an appropriate option in the drop-down menu) or send your tuition fee in a cashier's check or money order made out to Washington International Piano Festival to:

To apply please submit the following:

1. Completed APPLICATION FORM* (no application fee is required). You can download it and mail it to the address below or e-mail all the answers to the information requested in the application form to washingtonpianofest@gmail.com.

2. FOR ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS ONLY: Letter of recommendation from current teacher and/or another distinguished musician. This letter may also be e-mailed to washingtonpianofest@gmail.com.

3. Limited number of scholarships may be awarded. If you would like to apply, please send us your recent CD recording of two pieces in contrasting styles by May 1, 2010.

Refund and Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations made before July 10, 2010 will qualify for a full refund less a $75 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given after July 10, 2010.
